Walkers Retreat was designed as a Swiss style villa and is so complimented by this beautiful mountainous location. Situated in an elevated position in the village of Glenridding, which lies on the shores of Ullswater, Walkers retreat enjoys lovely panoramic lake and hill views. In Glenridding there are several pubs with fine eateries and even an internet cafe, together with a general store, hiking shop, tourist information centre and other facilities. A trip on the Ullswater Steamers is the ideal way to see around the lake and the nearby spectacular Aira Force Waterfall is a must to see. Within a short drive you can visit the popular tourist town of Keswick or travel over the Kirkstone Pass, enjoying a drink at the top in the Kirkstone Inn, to Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness.
