Ambleside is a year round destination for holiday makers of all ages and interests. In the summer, the village is host not only to the expected tourists but also to participants of the Lake District Summer music festival. In the winter the village twinkles with the arrival of the Christmas tree lights, announcing to both locals and visitors that the festive season has well and truly begun. The surrounding fell ranges, which dominate the Ambleside skyline, change colour with the seasons, from the lush greens of the summer months, through to the golden orange and browns of Autumn, a favourite time for many.
