An ideal base for visitors wishing to enjoy the nearby countryside, there is an outstanding variety of walks from the door, to the top of Helm Knott and Whernside, one of the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks, to a delightful stroll along the Dee, part of the Dales Way which passes through Dentdale. The craft centre at Helmside and just 100 yards from Helmswood Farmhouse, offers a collection of goods produced by local Dales folk, everything from watercolours and prints to walking sticks and pottery, ideal souveniers of your stay.
