Causeway Cottage sits in a short terrace next door to The Pig and Whistle, a traditional country pub and right in the heart of Cartmel. A level walk round the corner in to the village square brings you to a further selection of traditional pubs, some wonderful, award winning restaurants and of course, the famous sticky toffee pudding shop, The famous Cartmel Racecourse which holds several meetings throughout the year is only half a mile out of the village, quite a sight on race day and well worth a visit. The area offers some wonderful walking and is also an ideal base for touring as Windermere, Kendal and Grange Over Sands are all close by.
